1.let your battery get to room temperature

Your battery may not be charging because it is too hot or cold. If it is out of temperature range, your charger will show a red flashing light error. The amount of time will vary based on the battery's starting temp but, once it has reached room temperature it should start to charge.

2.Reset Your Battery

This tip only applies to 20V batteries and if you have a 20V 4-Port Charger. If your battery is at room temperature and it still isn't charging, it might need a reset. To reset your battery, place it on the 4-Port Charger and give it a few minutes.

3.Submit For Free Replacement Eligibility

Battery Charge Status

Both 20V and 40V batteries have a charge status button. Click on this button to see what level charge your battery is at.

Battery Error Codes

The following list shows how to read error codes your 20V or 40V batteries may flash once clicking the charge status button.

temperature iconMaintenance Tips

  • Remove the battery from tool before storing.
  • Keep the battery dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
  • To improve battery longevity, remove it from the charger once it’s done charging.
  • When you’re storing your battery for longer than 30 days, keep it where it’s away from moisture and under 80º F.
  • Charge your battery at least once every six months.
  • It’s not necessary to drain the battery before recharging.
